Meet The Doctors

Dr. Michelle van Walraven

Dr. van Walraven grew up in Springwater and Caledon, Ontario. She graduated from the University of Guelph with a BS (Hons) in Nutrition and Nutraceutical Sciences in 2008. She went on to achieve her Doctor of Medicine degree (MD) at the University of Ottawa in 2012. She settled in Barrie with her husband and two sons after completing her residency in Family Medicine (CCFP) in 2014 through the University of Toronto.

Dr. van Walraven practices comprehensive community based family medicine and palliative care. She holds privileges at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre where she enjoys seeing newborns, family practice patients and delivering palliative care.

​

Dr. van Walraven teaches as a Lecturer and Supervisor at the Barrie Family Medicine Teaching Unit site (University of Toronto), and she is the Educational Lead for Palliative Care for post graduate education in Barrie.

Dr. Jennifer McNaughton

Dr. McNaughton grew up in Calgary, Alberta. She graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Kinesiology in 2001 from the University of Western Ontario and then achieved her Doctor of Medicine degree (MD) at the University of Calgary in 2006. She completed her residency in Family Medicine (CCFP) with a Fellowship in Low Risk Obstetrics in 2008 through the University of  Toronto. Dr. McNaughton received a Fellowship designation (FCFP) from the College of Family Physicians of Canada in 2021. She lives in Barrie with her husband, daughter, and son.

Dr. McNaughton provides comprehensive family medicine care in the community and she also holds privileges at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre. 

 

Dr. McNaughton enjoys teaching both medical residents and students as an Assistant Professor and Supervisor at the Barrie Family Medicine Teaching Unit site (University of Toronto).
